Explore Ayrshire Farm on the Loudoun Fall Farm Tour
Meet our animals, visit the stables, & see regenerative farming in action Oct. 18-19
Step into Hunt Country and experience Ayrshire Farm during the Loudoun Fall Farm Tour! On Saturday, October 18, and Sunday, October 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., our gates will be open for a free, family-friendly event showcasing Virginia’s first Certified Humane® and Organic farm.
Discover how sustainable, holistic, and regenerative farming nurtures the land and rare heritage-breed animals while exploring our historic farm. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Hayrides: Ride from the parking area to the main house and stables, passing orchards, pastures, and Blue Ridge Mountain views.
Farm Animal Meet & Greet: Get up close with heritage breeds including Scottish Highland, Ancient White Park, and English Longhorn cattle, Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs, Broad Breasted Bronze turkeys, heritage laying hens, and our gentle Shire draft horses.
Regenerative Farming: Hear from our farmers about sustainable practices and why traditional methods still matter today.
Beehive Demos: Peek inside a live hive and learn how honeybees support our ecosystem.
Stables & Carriage Collection: Visit the grand stables, see our Shire draft horses, and explore an antique carriage collection.
Trolley Ride: Take in sweeping farm views on your way to the working barn.
Food & Drinks: Purchase BBQ pulled pork and chicken raised right here on the farm, along with sodas and water.
Ayrshire Farm Store: Stock up on WholeHarvest Meat Boxes, reserve your Thanksgiving turkey, and shop stone-ground organic flours, grits, cornmeal, and baking mixes from Locke’s Mill.
Kids’ Play Area: Let the little ones run, climb, and play farm-style.
Wildlife Ambassadors: Meet owls and other wild friends from our partners at Wildlife Vet Care.
All of this unfolds on a working farm surrounded by the rolling hills of Virginia’s Hunt Country. Cap off your visit with a meal at Hunter’s Head Tavern, where our pasture-raised meats are always on the menu.
And don’t stop there — the Loudoun Fall Farm Tour features 42 other farms and farm-related businesses across the county. Plan your full weekend adventure.
